Emergency Fund For The Homeless

LET'S

GIVE

According to the recent Point in Time count, Coos County has about 1200 individuals who are experiencing some kind of insecure housing situation. Around 600 of these people live outside. In this unprecedented time, and in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19, Coos County Friends of Public Health is soliciting donations for supplies.

If you have supplies that can be donated the top needs are: tarps, tents, hand sanitizer, Clorox type wipes, large and extra large gloves, jackets, rain gear, blankets, sleeping bags, water in 16 oz bottles, cold/flu medications, and small packs of tissues. These donations can be delivered directly to The Devereux Center, 1200 Newmark Ave, Coos Bay, OR 97420, if you have questions please call (541) 888-3202.

Providing resources to people experiencing homelessness is not only humane, it also protects the larger population. The fewer people who are infected, the less it will spread. Viruses do not discriminate! It is imperative we take the necessary steps to mitigate the spread in our most vulnerable population.

The best way to get through this is to work together. Your contribution, large or small, will help with this emergency project.
